Do you accept referrals for children or couples? At this stage, we accept referrals for adults only (ie. ages 18 plus) and therapy sessions are conducted in a one-to-one session format (ie. without the attendance of others such as children or spouse). This allows for a highly focused session to take place and also provides the energetic space for the individual to fully express and address what is needed to facilitate transformational change. Working in this way with this intent, also has a healing flow on effect to the dynamics that take place outside of the therapy room eg. with the individual's significant others and/or as they navigate significant change in their lives. Everything is interconnected, nothing is separate. Treatment with the adult individual within a family (eg. the mother and/or primary caregiver), will often also profoundly affect other members of the family (eg. children), and can be deeply healing for them. Time and time again, we have witnessed profound systemic change(s) occur as a result of the adult individual engaged in treatment. As the individual begins to heal old wounds (including intergenerational wounds), and as they shift and harmonise their energetic patterns, beliefs and perspectives ~ they often also experience shifts with those in their bloodline, ancestry, and/or significant other.

Do you accept Medicare referrals for the holistic psychology appointments?Yes, however, you do not need a medical referral to attend treatment appointments. If you wish to claim the Medicare rebate, you must have a valid referral from your GP to the practitioner that you wish to seek therapeutic care from. If you are changing practitioners, please note that old referrals will need to be updated with the new practitioners details. The standard Medicare rebate for a 51-60 min Psychology session is currently $96.65 (this is a recent increase of 3.5% from the previous rebate amount). Once we've received your referral, we are able to process the rebate on your behalf on the day of your scheduled appointment ~ please note, rebates cannot be processed prior to your appointment. You may either provide us with a hard copy of your referral on the day you attend your appointment, or you may ask your GP to send a copy to us online/electronically. Please note the Medicare rebate does not cover the full cost of the treatment appointment. For more information on treatment fees, please read the relevant section in the FAQs.

Do you charge a deposit to secure appointments?Yes, for all initial / first time appointments the full session fee is required to be paid up-front to secure your appointment day/time. For all subsequent sessions a minimum of 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. The reason a deposit is requested is to ensure commitment and fairness in scheduling appointments. By collecting a deposit, we can reserve your dedicated time slot and ensure that it is exclusively reserved for you. This helps in maintaining a smooth and organised schedule for all clients. It serves as a mutual agreement between you and your treating practitioner and demonstrates your commitment to attending the appointment and allows us to allocate the necessary resources, time, and expertise to provide you with the highest quality of care. It also helps to minimise the possibility of last-minute cancellations or no-shows, which can disrupt our practice and prevent other clients from receiving timely treatment.

I have a student / healthcare / pensioners card, do I still pay the full fee?Yes, at present we provide our services at the fees stated. We understand that financial considerations are a factor in the decision-making process. However, our ultimate goal is to strive to deliver the highest quality of care and dedicate our time, expertise, and resources to each client's well-being. Charging the full fee allows us to maintain the necessary resources and infrastructure to provide a comprehensive and effective treatment experience. We understand that bulk billing may offer financial relief for some clients, however, it comes with significant limitations that impact the level of care and attention we are able to provide. By charging the full fee, we can allocate ample time and attention to each client's session, ensuring a personalised and focused approach that addresses their unique needs and concerns. Additionally, it enables our practitioners to continually invest in their professional development, staying updated with the latest research, techniques, and modalities in order to offer the best possible outcomes for our clients. It also allows us to cover operational costs, administrative tasks, and ongoing practice maintenance, all of which contribute to a smooth and professional therapeutic experience.

Do you accept referrals through third party funding? (eg. NDIS / WorkCover /VOC / Insurer / Solicitor etc)?Thank you for considering our services for your healthcare needs. We strive to provide the highest quality health care in a way that truly benefits our clients, and also supports our practitioners to do their best work . This includes allowing our practitioners to focus their energy and time where it feels truly aligned with them as individuals, and to encourage the 'best fit' between practitioner and client, enabling a more positive therapeutic experience and likelihood of successful treatment outcomes. As much as we would love to help, unfortunately we can't help everyone. Hence, at this time we do not accept referrals of this nature. Whilst we understand the importance of these referrals for individuals, such as those injured at work and in need medical attention - navigating the complex nature of such referrals and associated administrative burden and costs (including medico-legal reporting) can significantly impact our ability to do what we do best, and can negate the timely delivery of effective care to all our clients, ensuring that each client receives the attention and support they need. This decision is rooted in our commitment to prioritise working with our strengths and resources as practitioners, and ensure the seamless delivery of care to all of our clients. We appreciate your understanding, respect, and cooperation.

Do you provide services for victims of crime and families affected by homicide?Unfortunately, we are unable to provide psychological services to clients who are victims of crime and/or families affected by homicide. We deeply empathise with the challenges and trauma these individuals face, however, our practice is not specialised in offering the specific legal, forensic, and complex trauma management and support that victims of crime often require. Providing psychological care to victims of crime may involve additional unique risks, including 1) Legal Considerations: Involvement in legal proceedings, such as providing court reports or testimony, requires expertise in forensic psychology that falls outside our scope of practice. 2) Resource Allocation: Victims often need access to multidisciplinary services, including crisis intervention, legal aid, and support groups, which are better facilitated by specialised agencies. To ensure that victims of crime receive the care they deserve, we recommend reaching out to the following organisations in Queensland, that are equipped to provide tailored support: Specialist services for families affected by homicide: Queensland Homicide Victims Support Group is available 24 hours by phoning 1800 774 744.
